What is Hepatitis C?

Hep C is a virus that infects the liver.
The good news is a Hep C infection can be cured by taking a course of antiviral tablets. If undiagnosed or left untreated, however, a Hep C infection can cause serious and life-threatening liver damage!

Many people are infected but don’t know.
Many people who have Hep C don’t look or feel sick, mainly because symptoms can take 20+ years to occur.

How do you get Hepatitis C?
Hep C is spread through contact with blood from an infected person. Most infections happen in people who inject drugs or have injected them in the past.
